Youth

Hi, my name is Clare Williams and in September 2018 I became the Parish Youth Minister for St. Maximilian Kolbe and the Parish of St. Michael and All Angel’s in Birkenhead. My role involves working with the young people, Year 6 and above, in the parish and helping them to find out more about their faith and become active members in the parish. I also work closely with Fr. Peter and Deacon Bill as a member of the Senior Leadership Team working and planning for the good of the whole parish.

I am the Vice Chair of the Parish Pastoral Council and oversee the Youth Small Ministry Group which includes the Faith in Action Group, Children’s Liturgy, Confirmation Preparation, the Uniformed Groups, School – Parish Links and Mini Vinnies.

I have attended St. Edward’s Church all my life, becoming more involved as time has gone on. As well as being part of the Parish Pastoral Council I am a reader, an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, a singer and help plan the social events and pilgrimages in the parish too.

Pilgrimage is an important part of my life. I have been to Lourdes many times with the Diocese of Shrewsbury and I have completed various walking pilgrimages. One of these was in Northumberland – St. Oswald’s Way and then I have completed 2 Camino routes to Santiago de Compostela, I am currently part way through my third Camino route to Santiago.

If you want to know any more about any of the groups I represent check out the Youth section on the website or ask me after Mass at the weekend.
