Clergy

Hello, I am Fr. Peter Wright, I was ordained a priest in for the Diocese of Shrewsbury in 1988. I became Parish Priest of St. Edward’s in September 2006 after being in St’s John Fisher and Thomas More in Wythenshawe for 11 years. In 2011 I also became responsible for Holy Spirit Church and the two Parishes were amalgamated to form the Parish of St. Maximilian Kolbe on Christmas Eve 2013.

I am an avid reader, and I also enjoy listening to music, walking, cycling and cooking. Over the years I have raised money for Halton Haven Hospice by completing pilgrim cycles to Holy Island in Northumberland, Walsingham and Santiago de Compostela. I also encourage Parishioners to become walking and cycling Pilgrims!

Catholic Social Teaching is a driving force within my ministry as it seeks to live the values of the Kingdom and shows us how to live in harmony with each other and nature.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Hello, I am Bill Yates. I was ordained as a Deacon on 6th July 2013, ministering in Our Lady’s, St Augustine’s and St Martin’s churches in the parish of the Divine Saviour.  In July 2018 I transferred to assist Father Peter in St Maximilian Kolbe parish.   This promises to be a very exciting and challenging time in the parish with the introduction of the Alpha Course and a process of Divine Renovation being implemented. I look forward to seeing the positive improvements these will bring from a  team effort involving the parish clergy together with the support of the people of the parish.

See you on Sunday!
