Hello, my name is Margaret Morgan, I have been a member of St. Edward’s Church Community for most of my life: I attended St. Edward’s Catholic Primary School, at eleven years old I transferred to Dee House Convent School in Chester. On leaving school I trained to be a teacher: I graduated from Mount Pleasant Catholic Teachers’ Training College in 1964. I spent thirty-six years of my forty-six-year career teaching at St. Clement’s Catholic Primary School: following five years service as Deputy Headteacher at St. Martin’s Catholic Primary School In Murdishaw. I was appointed as the Headteacher of St. Clement’s in January 1983 where I served in this capacity for twenty-eight years until I retired in August 2010,
In my retirement I have studied International Slavery at the University of Liverpool, I graduated with a Masters Degree in December 2012. I am an active member of the St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish community: I serve as a Eucharistic Minister, Reader; and a First Sacraments Catechist supporting the children at the Holy Spirit. Recently I joined the Alpha Team and I have become coordinator of the Welcome Ministry.
I am a member of the Parish Pastoral Council in this capacity I am responsible for the Justice and Peace Small Ministry Group; I am one of the parish representatives and Vice Chair of the Local Missionary Area Council. I have also served as a governor of St. Augustine’s Catholic Primary School, Latchford for nine years: I am currently Chair of Governors.
My Faith, my parish community and Catholic Education have always been and still are very important to me.
